Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator to support students across classrooms, implementing IEP/504 plans and behavior strategies. Responsibilities include assisting teachers, providing mobility and personal care assistance, and ensuring safe, inclusive learning environments.

The role runs 7 hours per day (7:30 AM–3:00 PM) with benefits through SEBB for eligible staff, plus potential additional pay per collective bargaining agreements. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Must provide high school diploma (or equivalent) and 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits, AA or BA degree, OR pass an academically rigorous assessment.
• Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform responsibilities listed.
• Must complete Core Competencies within one year if hired into a Paraeducator position.
• Demonstrated interest in working with students with disabilities.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in core academic areas as designed by teachers/specialists.
• Assist with implementing student IEPs, accommodations, and modifications.
• Assist with behavioral and social skills programs under supervision.
• Administer safety protocols and monitor student safety in multiple settings.
