Job summary

IDEAL School of Manhattan in New York, NY seeks a High School Learning Specialist for Math & Science. The role includes teaching Science within a co‑teaching team and leading Math sections, delivering differentiated instruction to a range of learners starting August 2026.

The successful candidate will contribute to an inclusive learning community, collaborate with families and staff, and participate in school life beyond the classroom, including clubs and advisory roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with Special Education designation.
• Master’s degree with Special Education or related designation.
• 2-3 years of relevant, hands-on teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner in an integrated co-teaching model to plan, co-teach and facilitate accessible Science instruction and lab activities.
• Independently plan, deliver, and manage instruction for assigned Math sections with full differentiation.
• Apply expertise in student development and pedagogy for typical and special needs students.
• Adapt and implement tiered lesson plans leveraging differentiated instructional methods via UDL.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicate them to students.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals on support strategies.
