Job summary

Albertina Kerr Centers in Marion County, Salem, OR is seeking a full-time Community Support Specialist to build relationships with local businesses, assess workplaces, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in securing inclusive employment.

Responsibilities include job preparation coaching, outreach to employers, discovery/career exploration, and maintaining person-centered documentation; weekend/holiday availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of job coaching experience AND 1 year working with individuals with disabilities
• Certified Employment Supported Professional (CESP) certification
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with local businesses to identify job opportunities for individuals, with or without ADA accommodations.
• Educate employers on the benefits of a diverse workforce and promote inclusive hiring practices.
• Conduct worksite assessments and support individuals in integrating into workplace culture.
• Provide on-site support and encouragement and advocacy as needed.
• Guide individuals through job preparation activities like resume writing, interview practice, and transportation planning.
• Deliver Discovery/Career Exploration services and develop vocational profiles.
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with support teams to ensure consistent, person-centered services.
