Job summary

Albertina Kerr Centers in Beaverton, OR is seeking a full-time Day Support staff to provide community-based learning experiences and employment readiness activities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role involves supervising participants, coordinating activities, and supporting personal care needs.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and ability to lift up to 70 pounds, plus valid driving eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience instructing/supervising individuals with developmental disabilities or related field.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills with diverse clients.
• Willingness to drive and transport participants in a 15-passenger van.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must meet background check and driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct community-based learning and work experiences.
• Plan and implement outings and activities aligned with service plans and employment readiness.
• Help create a social bond between participants and non-disabled community members.
• Facilitate learning to pursue integrated competitive employment.
• Manage and de-escalate behavioral issues and document progress.
• Assist with personal care and bathroom support as needed.
