Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will assist in implementing instructional plans, monitor behavior, and participate in IEP meetings.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, administering materials, providing first aid, and coordinating with teachers and parents to support student progress and safety in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One of: associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits, or apprenticeship.
• Education testing service paraeducator score or PESB qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities under teacher direction to include all students.
• Administer materials and assignments to assist teacher in evaluating progress and organizing needs.
• Provide first aid and medical assistance as needed.
• Monitor student behavior and ensure safety in various school settings.
