Job summary

The Phoenixville Area School District is seeking an Instructional Aide to support certified staff and assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction in the classroom.

Under supervision, you will work with students individually and in small groups, help administer and review classroom exercises and assessments, prepare instructional materials, and assist with record-keeping and behavior management to keep students on task.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework desirable.
• Experience with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Assist professional staff in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare and use educational materials; reinforce instructional materials according to student needs.
• Assist with record-keeping documenting student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management to keep students on task and safe.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, etc.).
• Accompany students on field trips to assist with supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Support students with special needs to maximize inclusion.
