Job summary

Big Spring ISD is seeking a Special Education Inclusion Teacher for the Big Spring Intermediate School (5th & 6th grade). The role includes developing IEPs through ARD, delivering instruction tailored to students with special needs, and coordinating with staff and families to support growth across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social domains.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements, plus demonstrated competency in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs.
Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting diverse learning styles and needs.
Modify regular curricula and assist special education students in regular classes.
Lead ARD Committee meetings regularly.
Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
Present subject matter per IEP guidelines.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
Plan and supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteers.
Use technology in teaching/learning process.
