Job summary

Alter Trading is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector for our Green Bay, WI facility to support inbound material operations. You will inspect, grade, and direct incoming scrap metal while maintaining strong customer relationships and safety standards.

You will issue inspection tickets, obtain customer signatures, direct yard traffic, and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures. This full-time role emphasizes reliability, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced recycling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in metals preferred.
• Ability to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct and inspect inbound scrap metal to the facility
• Identify and grade inbound scrap materials
• Reject unacceptable items and ensure quality standards are met
• Direct customers in traffic flow and proper unloading areas
• Complete inspection tickets and provide to customers
• Obtain customer signatures on appropriate material certificates
• Maintain good working relationships with customers
• Operate yard equipment as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
