Job summary

Radius Recycling in Oakland, CA is seeking a Metals Inspector to observe and monitor material deliveries, ensuring conformance to quality and quantity specifications while upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

The role may involve assisting with daily production operations, receiving and stockpiling materials, and maximizing receipt and transfer of quality product, with a flexible work approach aimed at safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with customers and other employees required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect shipments of scrap metal to ensure material meets specifications and is free from environmental hazards.
• Record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity.
• Notify operations and commercial supervisors of problems and assist in recommending remedial procedures.
• Collaborate with commercial department concerning quality and consistency of customer deliveries.
• Direct the unloading of vehicles delivering scrap to ensure safe and orderly yard traffic.
