Job description

The pay range per hour is $28.25 - $48.00.

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications. ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of operations, process, and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is merchandised and available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store. This team also leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food-safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.

The Inbound team are experts at unloading trailer deliveries and preparing merchandise to be stocked on the sales floor.

Role of Inbound Operations Team Leader

  • Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture on your team.
  • Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions strategies.
  • Planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
  • Leading a team of hourly team members, including skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent.

As an Inbound Operations Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Understanding sales goals, plans, and executing daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Leading and sharing expertise in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Establishing clear goals and expectations with guidance from your direct leader and holding team members accountable.
  • Utilizing workload planning tools to complete scheduled work ensuring areas are guest-ready at store opening.
  • Assigning daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic, aligned with business priorities.
  • Working a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends.
  • Assessing GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reports, and developing plans to resolve issues.
  • Ensuring product availability for purchase and supporting organizational and operational change.
  • Building and developing a team of GM experts through ongoing training and feedback.
  • Demonstrating inclusivity and creating equitable experiences.
  • Leading a safety culture, modeling safe behaviors, and ensuring compliance with safety expectations.
  • Modeling physical security processes to enhance in-store security.
  • Supporting merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application of best practices.
  • Following all safe and secure training and processes as applicable.
  • Addressing emergency and compliance needs, supporting guest services, and maintaining a culture of compliance.
  • Engaging with guests in a welcoming way, helping solve their needs, and thanking them for shopping at Target.
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business needs.

  • Welcoming attitude, effective communication skills, and physical ability to perform job duties.
