Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Inbound Operations Manager in the Washington, DC area to lead inbound activities at our distribution center. You will drive efficiency, safety, and accountability while promoting engagement and problem‑solving among teammates.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee freight handling, receiving, stocking, and related workflows, collaborating with other DC leaders to meet strategic priorities and service levels.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
• 1+ year’s proven experience in a managerial role and/or leading teams.
• Ability to motivate and inspire a team to actively contribute to problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Commitment to upholding high standards of integrity, professionalism and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager to implement operational strategies for efficiency and productivity.
• Manages inbound operations by setting performance expectations and monitoring productivity.
• Leads strategic inbound implementation, overseeing freight scheduling, unloading, receiving, stocking, and safety.
• Promotes safety compliance and trains staff to highest efficiency.
• Handles inquiries from suppliers, delivery partners, and customers and resolves issues.
• Works cross-functionally with DC management to identify and fix recurring receiving errors.
• Protects assets and ensures proper receipts for all merchandise.
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and drives process improvements.
