Job summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking an Inbound Manager to oversee the receiving department, ensuring accurate onboarding of inventory, resolving discrepancies with procurement, and coordinating with carriers/vendors. You will collaborate with department managers across shifts to maintain SOP compliance and meet operational directives.

Responsibilities include directing daily operations in receiving, coaching up to 100 employees, monitoring performance metrics, and driving improvements in productivity

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations management; 2-3 years’ experience with receiving and inventory management preferred.
  • Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations within the receiving department, including appointment scheduling, unloading import containers and domestic trailers, and the systematic check-in and accuracy verification of inventory.
  • Train, coach, develop and hold accountable up to 100 employees to achieve operational metrics.
  • Monitor metrics for the receiving department; identify and resolve operating issues as needed.
  • Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Lead weekly and monthly meetings to share information including metrics review and initiatives.
  • Analyze opportunities for improvement including productivity growth, cost reduction, and process efficiency.

Job Summary

The Inbound Manager oversees the receiving department of the facility, including the unloading, check-in, QA, and put-away of inventory. They are responsible for ensuring the facility onboards accurate inventory, reporting discrepancies to procurement, and resolving issues with carriers/vendors. Reporting directly to the Inbound Operations Manager, the Inbound Manager is tasked with collaborating with department managers on other shifts to ensure compliance with all protocol and SOP’s, as well as the leadership team in Inventory Control and Shipping, to problem solve and meet operational directives.

Operational
  • Manage the day-to-day operations within the receiving department, including appointment scheduling, the unloading of import containers and domestic trailers, the systematic check-in and accuracy verification of inventory, and the storage of product ready for the shipping department.
  • Train, coach, develop and hold accountable up to 100 employees to achieve operational metrics and satisfy the needs of the distribution center.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for the receiving department; identify and resolve operating issues as needed.
  • Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Lead weekly and monthly meetings to share information including metrics review, areas of improvement, employee relations issues, and provide updates on any initiatives and related projects.
  • Analyze opportunities for improvement including productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and increased process efficiency.
People
  • Ensure the timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide frequent and constructive feedback to all team members in accordance with the Great Employees Only philosophy.
  • Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations are followed.
  • Promptly complete all admin duties relating to employee management to the expected standard.
Leadership
  • Collaborate with the leadership team within the building to meet the needs of the DC and foster a team mentality.
  • Create development plans for employees to generate engagement and a leadership bench, with a focus on Team Leaders.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and honesty, embodying the core values of the company and modeling them for our employees.
  • Serve as a leader not only for the assigned department, but for the entire distribution center, holding peers, managers and employees accountable to expectations.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations management; 2-3 years’ experience with receiving and inventory management preferred.
  • Experience working in a distribution environment preferred.
Education
