Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines in Washington is seeking an Inbound Supervisor to lead dock operations, plan routes, and supervise freight movements. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a multi-site terminal network across the region.

The candidate should have supervisory experience in LTL freight, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting. Weekend/extended hours may be required as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in LTL freight, logistics or transportation.
• Proven leadership, team building and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Good computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
• Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Available to work up to 50 hours/week on average.
• Able to work independently or in a team setting.
• Able to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Daily route planning for inbound shipments to maximize route efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Schedule and assign tasks for dock planning and setup.
• Ensure timely delivery of freight.
• Observe loading/unloading of trucks for proper handling.
• Supervise operations, procedures, and freight movement.
• Enforce safety measures and government regulations.
• Train new dock employees and coach dock personnel.
• Create and maintain a teamwork environment.
• Coordinate drivers and assign trucks and routes.
• Maintain equipment and facility for safe operations.
• Manage cost goals at terminal levels.
• Coordinate Bremerton satellite terminal activities: manpower planning, driver communication, dispatch, metrics.
