Job summary

Lilly in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a hands-on scientist to join the Discovery Oncology in vivo team. You will execute mouse studies, monitor tumor growth, and support cross-functional partners to advance target identification and de-risking of liabilities. Some weekends may be required.

The role emphasizes meticulous documentation, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with study leads to ensure high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in animal science, biology, or related field with 5+ years of in vivo research/animal experience; or BS with 2+ years of in vivo experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor work authorization or visas.

Responsibilities

• Execute mouse studies including tumor cell implantation and dosing.
• Measure tumor volumes and monitor body weight and animal health.
• Support dosing and necropsy for studies run by other team members, including weekends.
• Harvest and process tumor and tissue samples at endpoints.
• Perform basic in vitro cell culture to prepare cells for implantation studies.
• Order and track lab and office supply inventory for in vivo studies.
• Maintain compliance with IACUC-approved protocols and SOPs.
• Enter, tabulate, and summarize study data and present results.
