Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Castle Rock, CO is seeking a part-time Event Host to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.

You will engage with customers of all ages, lead activities, manage setup and cleanup, and ensure a fun, safe, and organized experience aligned with store standards. This role requires energy, excellent people skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment, with evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic with strong people skills.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal and nonverbal.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills with creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, face painting, and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Uphold store cleanliness and safety standards.
