Michaels in Reno, NV is hiring for an in-store Event Coordinator to plan and run events like kids’ birthday parties, assist customers, and ensure a fun, safe shopping experience. You’ll handle activities, checkouts, and store tasks while delivering great guest service.

The role emphasizes energetic interaction with guests of all ages, coordination of event logistics, and collaboration with the store team to meet brand standards and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and the ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Experience working with children and coordinating children’s events.
• Solid written and verbal communication; active listening.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events in-store (including kids birthday parties).
• Engage with clients of all ages, helping them shop and participate in activities.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts and activities.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle admin tasks (emails, calls).
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold store cleanliness and safety standards.
• Assist with truck unloading, stocking, planograms, and in‑store operations.
