Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring at our Holland, MI location for a store associate responsible for providing courteous customer service, operating cash registers, and assisting guests with self-checkouts. You’ll handle transactions, help guests locate products, and maintain the store’s department standards in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year retail experience preferred, and strong communication and arithmetic skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone and direct calls to the appropriate department.
• Operate cash register and assist guests with self-checkouts.
• Process transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, and coupons.
• Maintain a clean, stocked department and follow safety, sanitation procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Notify department lead or manager of pricing, cash register or program issues.
