Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a part-time Party & Host Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate events inside the Michaels store, including children's birthday parties. You will help guests shop, deliver a fun, creative experience, and ensure smooth checkout and store operations.

Ideal candidates have energetic personalities, strong people skills, and experience with children’s events.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills and ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Experience working with children and coordinating events is preferred.
• Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple events.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events including kids' birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party activities; handle face painting and similar tasks.
• Set up, run, and break down events, including add-ons like balloons or goody bags.
• Communicate events to clients and store team; complete admin tasks as needed.
