Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a training lead to design, develop, and execute comprehensive training for ops controllers and engineers supporting the In-Space System program. You will conduct lessons, hands-on events, and on-site rehearsals, while coordinating with flight vehicle systems engineers and payload customers.

You will run simulators and training assets, define future training needs, and validate operator proficiency, maintaining training records and enabling mission success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S in engineering, education, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience developing and executing training for mission support operators and engineers in space oriented, military, or government environment.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to lead technical training and debriefs.
  • Experience writing training course materials (lesson objectives and plans, evaluation criteria, hands-on training activities).
  • Ability to travel to support training activities as needed; typically <10 per year.
  • Ability to support varied workday hours; training may be off hours or shifts to accommodate time zones.
  • On-call support may be required.
  • Self-starter with strong coordination skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and build relationships.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers representing flight vehicle systems, ground software, flight control operators, and payload customers when developing training to ensure it is relevant and supports successful mission support.
  • Run the simulator and training assets as needed for hands-on, practice, and rehearsal events.
  • Define requirements and support development of future training simulators, interfaces, and other training assets.
  • Evaluate console operator proficiency and currency for mission support; develop ad hoc and contingency training as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of operator training completion.

  • Self-starter with strong coordination skills that is comfortable working programs with varying training needs.
  • Must be able to initiate, track, manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and jobs
  • A consistent track record of working optimally with a multi-disciplinary team, and building strong working relationships within the organization and across multiple groups
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
