Job summary

Marotta Controls in Montville, NJ seeks a Technician/Mechanic II to set up and operate pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies for in‑space propulsion. You will test Delta‑V hardware, follow schematics and tolerances, and troubleshoot issues to ensure functional performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing/testing, mechanical/electro‑mechanical aptitude, and experience with precision measuring tools and electronic test equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/testing environment.
• Mechanical or electro-mechanical products measurement and testing experience required.
• Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and abilities to function test products.
• Knowledge/experience with variety of electronic test equipment.
• Knowledgeable in high pressure fluids (Skydrol/red-oil), gasses and electronic test equipment and ability to work with abrasive chemicals and hydraulic fluids.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts, ESD, FOD control and PPE.
• Effective verbal/written communication skills for interaction across the organization.
• Computer literate, MS Office experience and basic PC skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Primary duty is to ensure products perform their proposed functions in a satisfactory manner.
• Read, interpret documents (procedures, schematics/technical drawings) and use measuring devices to confirm geometries.
• Work in accordance with approved data, customer specs and regulatory requirements including mil‑specs.
• Set up and use electronic instruments, load testing devices, microscopes, measuring instruments.
• Operate tools for assembly (hand tools, micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Operate testing equipment (multimeters, voltmeters, pressure gauges, data recorders, etc.).
• Install and maintain high‐pressure test equipment (nitrogen, helium, skydrol).
• Assemble products, install components; use fixtures; apply lock wire and torque seal.
• Perform end‑of‑line functional testing and record results.
