Job summary

The School City of East Chicago is seeking an In-School Solutions Specialist for Central High School to supervise and support students assigned to the In-School Solutions Program. The role emphasizes maintaining a disciplined academic environment and coordinating with teachers and administrators to reinforce school rules.

Duties include daily attendance, reviewing policies with students, assisting during reflection periods, monitoring ISS assignments, and ensuring safe escorts to the bathroom.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to interpret and enforce school rules.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience an asset.
• Experience with high school students and knowledge of conflict resolution encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for students assigned to the In-School Solutions classroom.
• Take daily attendance.
• Review in-school solutions policies and expectations with students daily.
• Collaborate with staff during student reflection periods on behavior management.
• Monitor ISS assignments and provide feedback and instructional assistance as appropriate.
• Ensure students have security escorts to the bathroom.
• Email teachers 24 hours in advance for work requests and complete Work Completion Logs.
• Facilitate and arrange delivery of student lunches when necessary.
• Refer behavior problems to the assistant principal.
• Execute any and all assigned duties.
