School City of East Chicago is seeking an In-School Solutions Specialist at Central High School. The role involves supervising students assigned to the In-School Solutions Program and ensuring daily attendance and adherence to school policies.

The position emphasizes behavior management, collaboration with staff, and support during reflection periods. Start date is upon board approval; part-time schedule follows the teacher/student calendar, with hourly compensation and no benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with high school age students preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience.
• Ability to manage behavior and maintain discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for students assigned to the In-School Solutions classroom.
• Take daily attendance.
• Review in-school solutions policies, procedures and student expectations with students daily.
• Work with students and staff during reflection period on behavior management to prevent ISS placement.
• Monitor ISS assignments; provide encouragement and feedback, monitor tests and provide instructional assistance.
• Ensure students have security escorts to the bathroom.
• Email teachers 24 hours in advance for work requests and complete Work Completion Logs.
• Facilitate and arrange delivery of student lunches when necessary.
• Refer behavior problems to assistant principal.
• Perform any and all assigned duties.
