Job summary

Literacy Mid-South in Memphis is seeking an in-school Reading Tutor to provide short-group literacy instruction during the school day. You will use Tutor901 materials and support classroom learning while building students' confidence and love of reading.

Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour with paid training, and opportunities for ongoing coaching and professional development. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., part-time during the Fall semester at partner schools in the Memphis area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework or higher education preferred.
• Experience with school-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact, small-group reading instruction (up to three students).
• Support classroom learning and foster positive relationships with students.
• Attend Tutor901 and Tennessee Department of Education trainings.
• Maintain attendance, tutoring logs, and data records accurately.
• Communicate professionally with school staff and Literacy Mid-South staff.
