Job summary

Thompson Houston is recruiting for an In-Room Dining Server to join our hotel team as we launch a new destination restaurant concept within Thompson Houston Hotel. The position is available to start immediately and will support delivering seamless room service to hotel guests and residents.

Responsibilities include recording guest orders, menu suggestions, processing payments including room charges and credit cards, and maintaining a sanitary room service area.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Liquor, wine & beer and food knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proactive attitude with strong organizational skills.
• Work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule - willing and able to work overnight shift duties that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Receives and inputs guest orders.
• Ensure receipt of orders by kitchen are correct.
• Delivers food and beverage orders and collects payments.
• Settles checks in the P.O.S. system according to Hotel specifications.
• Assists in the maintenance of the Room Service area and equipment, including retrieval of all equipment throughout the hotel.
• Handles complaints or challenges with a positive attitude

In-Room Dining colleagues are responsible for recording guest food and/or beverage orders, offering menu suggestions, processing forms of payment for goods and services to include room charges and credit card. Our In Room Dining Attendants are a vital point of contact for the guest dining experience and have the ability to ensure satisfaction. Other duties include general in room dining preparation, removal of serving trays from guestroom floors and maintaining a sanitary environment.
