Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Boston is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to join our In-Room Dining team. You will take guest breakfast, lunch, dinner, and overnight orders by phone, ensuring Forbes 5-Star service and accurate timing.

Based in Back Bay, you will report to the In-Room Dining Manager and handle guest preferences, side work, and daily operations while delivering exceptional service to every guest.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel property.
• Must have excellent telephone skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic operation. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Taking accurate food and beverage orders over the phone from hotel guests and entering them into the computer.
• Demonstrating pleasant and professional telephone etiquette in accordance with Forbes 5-Star standards when taking orders and quoting accurate timing for delivery.
• Arranging amenity assignments and deliveries.
• Updating guest preferences.
• Performing side work duties including, but not limited to, folding napkins, clearing tables and trays, and organizing paperwork.
• Assisting In-Room Dining Servers in daily operations.
• Providing excellent service to all guests.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the In-Room Dining Department in Boston, Massachusetts, the In-Room Dining Order Taker is responsible for answering guest telephone requests for breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight orders.

The In-Room Dining Order Taker reports to the In-Room Dining Manager.

Compensation

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $31.70.
