Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) inside state prison facilities. You will facilitate CBI classes, conduct sessions to develop release prevention/action plans, and document progress in ARMS while collaborating with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters and local staff.

Qualifications

• Counselor I: Must be registered with an organization approved by DHCS and obtain their AOD certification within five years of registration date.
• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressure and uphold ethical standards.
• Protect and maintain participants' health, safety, welfare and confidentiality of records.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants.
• Document delivery of CBI services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms.
• Work with CDCR/CCHCS HQ, local institutions, and contracted staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Contractor.
