Job summary

Fortrex is seeking an In-Plant Safety Specialist to advocate safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and implement preventative measures at our facilities. The role focuses on enforcing safety policies, training team members, and maintaining a safe plant environment.

You will conduct weekly safety audits, investigate incidents, and collaborate with site leadership to drive improvements and compliance across North America. This is a hands-on, on-site position requiring a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety related field or equivalent job experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace by ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Communicate safety policies and practices to team members and train on proper safety practices.
• Perform weekly safety audits and report findings with recommended corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents and OSHA complaints and follow up with action plans.
• Discipline employees for safety violations when necessary.
• Complete required on-the-job safety training and drive safety awareness and metrics.
