Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to serve clients in-person at a local Block Advisors office. You will prepare returns, interview clients, and identify tax-saving opportunities while delivering advisory service with care.

You’ll work with a collaborative team, receive industry-leading training, and participate in an incentive plan that rewards impact on clients and your tax expertise growth, with a competitive hourly pay structure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience working in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications—then provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant Block Advisors products and services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
