Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor in Petaluma, CA to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and deliver personalized recommendations.

You will build long-term client relationships, identify tax-saving opportunities and provide IRS support, audit guidance, and notices resolution, supported by industry-leading training and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications and provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products and services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
