Job summary

Tutor Partners is seeking experienced middle and high school math tutors to provide in-person tutoring in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at its Juvenile Court Schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct academic impact with students in a specialized educational setting.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am -12 pm through the 2026-27 School Year. Pay rate is $20-30 per hour.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or 24 college credits required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience working with students in grades 6-12; experience in juvenile justice or alternative education settings a plus.
Strong content knowledge in middle and high school math; experience tutoring ELA is a plus.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to pass required background clearances (e.g., LiveScan/fingerprinting) as required by LACOE.

Responsibilities

Provide small-group and push-in math support aligned to student needs during the school day.
Track and report student progress.
Participate in instructional planning with teachers and school leaders, administration of assessments, and coordination meetings.
Collaborate with Tutor Partners staff and site personnel to coordinate scheduling and materials.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.
