Job summary

StudentNest Group seeks a Juvenile Detention Tutor to provide educational support to youths in detention and probation programs. This in-person role supports academic progress and builds literacy, numeracy, and GED readiness.

You will work with detention and education staff, following safety guidelines, with a schedule that includes substitute, part-time hours and mornings to evenings.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
• Experience tutoring or teaching with at-risk youth is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized or small group tutoring for detained youths to complete coursework.
• Help students prepare for GED and improve literacy and numeracy skills.
• Collaborate with probation officers and detention staff on progress and plans.
