Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is seeking a full-time teacher for the Perquimans Juvenile Detention Center to deliver core academic courses to small groups of students in grades 6-12. You will plan lessons based on NC Standards and adapt to individual learning needs, ensuring engagement and progress.

Responsibilities include using data-informed strategies, implementing IEPs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining up-to-date student records within a secure

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid North Carolina teacher license with teaching certification for middle or high school (EC, English, Math, Social Studies or Science).
• Experience delivering instruction to diverse learners and using NC Standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons based on NC Standards and student needs.
• Provide engaging activities to teach concepts and ensure success for all students.
• Use data to inform instructional activities and maintain student records.
• Support IEPs and participate in interdisciplinary planning for student services.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and records.
