Job summary

Youth Justice Network is seeking a Tutor to support justice-involved youth ages 13–21 as part of its Career and Education Pathways initiative. The role involves providing individualized tutoring in literacy and numeracy, preparing youth for GED/HSE exams, and ensuring educational engagement during ACS custody.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, experience in academic support, and a commitment to equity within educational settings. Compensation falls within a competitive range of $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in tutoring for adolescents, preferably justice-involved youth.
• Strong content knowledge in literacy, numeracy, GED/HSE curriculum.
• Commitment to advancing equity for justice-involved youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct tutoring in literacy, numeracy, GED/HSE preparation.
• Adapt instructional strategies to individual learning needs.
• Coordinate academic support with YJN staff and DOE teachers.
• Maintain accurate records in YJN’s database.
• Participate in professional development and training.
