Job summary

Ad Astra, Inc. is expanding its network of qualified in-person interpreters to support government-related and other assignments throughout Washington, DC and the Capital Beltway.

This freelance, contract-based opportunity offers flexible scheduling and in-person work; applicants must be fluent in English and at least one other language, authorized to work in the U.S., and willing to undergo background checks and training if needed.

Qualifications

• Full professional proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to provide accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate interpretation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available for in-person assignments across Washington, DC / Capital Beltway area.
• Legal interpretation experience preferred; training may be provided.

Qualifications

1. Full professional proficiency in English and at least one additional language
2. Authorized to work in the United States
3. Ability to provide accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate interpretation
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Reliable and able to attend in-person assignments throughout the Washington, DC / Capital Beltway area
6. Legal interpretation experience is strongly preferred
7. Candidates without legal interpretation experience must be willing to complete the required training before accepting assignments
