Ad Astra, Inc. is expanding its network of in-person interpreters for government-related assignments across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

This freelance, contract-based opportunity requires full professional proficiency in English and another language, and the ability to work in person on-site in Eastern Maryland. Authorized to work in the United States, you should demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal skills, and reliability to attend diverse on-site interpreting assignments.

Qualifications

• Full professional proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to provide accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate interpretation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and able to attend in-person assignments throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
• Legal interpretation experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates without legal interpretation experience must be willing to complete the required training before accepting assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for government-related assignments.
• Attend assignments on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality during interpretation.
• Travel to multiple sites as required by assignments.
