Job summary

United Activities Unlimited, Inc. (UAU) in Staten Island, NY seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support the HR department in recruitment, onboarding, data integrity, file audits and confidential employee relations in a fast-paced, in-person setting.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (or equivalent experience), strong knowledge of HR laws, HRIS proficiency, and excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• Alternative: High School diploma with 8+ years HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring of qualified applicants.
• Works with HR leadership on background checks and eligibility verifications.
• Implements new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
• Maintains HRIS data accuracy and file audits.
• Responds to employee inquiries and handles sensitive matters.
• Attends disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
