Job summary

The Buck Institute is seeking a Clinical Research Associate/Coordinator I to join our clinical research team. The role supports day-to-day logistics and communications for clinical studies, performs elements of study visits at Buck locations, and assists with processing biospecimens and study data.

Candidates must have prior clinical setting experience; the CRA will gain independence under supervision and work with a senior team including study nurses and clinical project managers.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent in a biological, health, behavioral, or related field.
• Previous clinical setting experience (health care or research) is preferred for entry level.
• Experience with, or strong interest in, clinical trial conduct and operations.
• Strong interest in aging science and translating basic science to clinical interventions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain participant tracking and scheduling records; conduct telephone prescreening and coordinate visits.
• Prepare and maintain source documents, study logs, questionnaires, and study supplies.
• Conduct protocol-specified study procedures under supervision and explain activities to participants.
• Build rapport with participants to support engagement and retention.
• Support protocol compliance through thorough review and documentation at each visit.
• Extract and digitize data from written case report forms while preserving data integrity.
• Process, label, track, store, and ship biospecimens per study procedures.
• Support regulatory documentation and study files; assist with deviations and adverse-event documentation.
• Participate in data analysis, interpretation, write-up, and dissemination.
• Escalate participant safety concerns or protocol issues to the study team and PI.
