Job summary

Columbus State University seeks dynamic Academic Success Coaches who blend professional coaching with academic advising and instructional responsibilities. This in-person hybrid role supports student success through individualized coaching, academic guidance, and skill-building experiences.

Coaches apply ICF-aligned competencies, guide students in planning their paths, and teach workshops that build persistence, career readiness, and study skills. Reports to Lead Academic Success Coach.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in-person on campus due to teaching, coaching, and advising expectations.
• ICF credential (ACC, PCC, or MCC) or willingness to complete certification within 2 years of start date.
• 4-year employment commitment if the institution funds credentialing; potential cost reimbursement.
• Two+ years of professional coaching, academic advising, or student services in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and group coaching to support students' leadership development and persistence.
• Advise students on academic requirements, course selection, majors and career pathways.
• Teach credit-bearing or non-credit academic success courses and workshops.
• Coordinate with faculty and campus partners to resolve barriers and support holistic student needs.
