Job summary

Medical City Plano, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehab. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized plans, provide hands-on therapy, and work closely with physicians and the care team to support recovery.

You will monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, document outcomes, and educate patients and families to enhance understanding and engagement throughout care transitions.

Qualifications

• OT must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and be licensed to practice.
• OTR or OT certification is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities and needs and develop individualized therapy plans with physicians and the care team.
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document outcomes thoroughly and promptly.
• Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe transitions of care and positive patient experience.
• Lead by example, mentoring therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA’s mission and values.
