Cardinal Health operates hospital-system pharmacy services and currently seeks a Pharmacist II for PAM Specialty Hospital of San Antonio South Campus. The role includes dispensing, patient education, supervising technicians, and maintaining accreditation.

Anticipated hours are 40 per week with every-other weekend, and potential cross-campus placement. The ideal candidate will hold Texas licensure, IV certification, and hospital experience, with flexibility to shift as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed, “good standing” pharmacist in the state of Texas required.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and on-call as needed.
• IV certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and dispenses medications using the pharmacy information system.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant, efficient operations.
• Adjusts dosages per established protocols and documents antimicrobial stewardship tasks.
• Educates patients on medication use and expected effects.
• Manages narcotics, inventory control and compliance, including regulatory checklists.
• Collaborates with nurses and physicians to verify orders and obtain information.
• Supports Pharmacy Director in maintaining accreditation and implementing changes.
