The position requires AHIMA/AAPC certification, RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/COC credentials, and experience coding CABG/Ortho/Med cases, with HIPAA compliance and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Accurately assigns ICD-10-CM and PCS primary and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes based on the documentation in the record and in accordance with site guidelines and policies.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists consistent with client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Floats between multiple sites and coding specialties with ease and flexibility.
