Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for Hospital (Acute) In-patient visits, coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases. The role uses the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing.

Essential duties include precise ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, physician query creation, and review of claims for medical necessity while maintaining HIPAA compliance. The coder will float across sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC credentials encouraged or required.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases required.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.
• Meets quality and productivity standards; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes accurately based on document, site guidelines, and policies; ensure accurate DRG.
• Ability to create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties with flexibility.
