Job summary

City Of Atlanta Careers seeks a Training Specialist II to deliver employee development programs citywide within the Organizational Development unit. The role involves in-person and virtual instruction, needs assessments, and maintaining LMS materials.

The individual will support the New Hire Orientation and collaborate with senior staff to ensure program objectives are met and learning outcomes are evaluated. This is an in-office position requiring reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adult learning principles, methods and best practices.
• Knowledge of assessment tools (MS Forms, SurveyMonkey, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and active listening).
• Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Collaboration with internal and external customers/clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with LMS and Adobe Creative Suite software and systems.
• Skilled in using Audio/Visual and other presentation equipment, including Smartboards and Virtual Platforms.
• Reliable transportation for off-site sessions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates nontechnical core skills training for all staff levels.
• Uses needs assessment tools to identify training needs and measure effectiveness.
• Supports online New Employee Orientation (NEO).
• Assesses training needs from surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Delivers training using in-person and virtual formats.
• Assists with LMS duties and scheduling in Outlook.
• Collaborates to update LMS user manuals.
• Assesses training materials for quality.
• Evaluates program effectiveness via surveys and follow-ups.
• Keeps up with trends in training and development.
