Job summary

VarcoMac LLC, a Legence company, seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting and finance team in Odenton, Maryland. The role focuses on financial reporting, compliance, and operational accounting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and supporting monthly and annual close processes.

You will reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Two years of accounting experience in public or corporate environments.
• ASC 606 and percentage-of-completion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts monthly.
• Maintain and monitor roll-forward schedules for accuracy.
• Assist with audits and SOX compliance activities.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations and external auditors.
