Qualifications

• 1+ years of medical billing experience.
• Strong understanding of the full medical billing cycle.
• Direct experience with insurance billing and follow-up.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, UB, HCFA, and 837 terminology.
• Experience with EMA/ModMed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Submit charges accurately.
• Review claims for completeness and payer information.
• Research unpaid claims, identify root causes, and follow up.
• Perform timely claim follow-up in line with productivity benchmarks.
• Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation.
• Post payments accurately and reconcile accounts.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure proper data entry and charge capture.
