Job summary

NorthPoint is seeking a Development Associate in Detroit to support the internal project team with initial due diligence, market research, and budgeting. You’ll assist with schedules, entitlements, and coordination of consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time.

You will help track budgets, manage development calendars, and support leasing activities, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, real estate or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in a related role.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support internal project team with initial project due diligence: opportunity evaluation, entitlement analysis, market research, budget establishment and investment offering prep.
• Assist in creating and managing development schedules: due diligence, entitlements, design, permitting, land closing.
• Coordinate with consultants (civil, environmental, geotechnical) and contractors.
• Organize bid scopes, perform initial bid comparisons, and track contract/purchase orders.
• Coordinate with NorthPoint team to ensure timely permit submittals and responses.
• Facilitate progress meetings with project stakeholders.
• Track project financials, budgets and monthly draw requests.
• Provide reporting to internal/external stakeholders and support leasing feedback.
• Coordinate with leasing team for RFP responses and prospect inquiries.
