Job summary

Northbrook Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team focused on subacute care for adults. You will evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders, develop individualized plans, and provide evidence-based therapy.

This role offers collaboration with nursing, therapy, dietary, and medical staff, plus ongoing professional growth and a focus on helping residents

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Iowa SLP license or eligibility for Iowa licensure.
• ASHA CCC-SLP or Clinical Fellowship status.
• Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, acute care, or medical settings preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy.
• Treat residents recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, illness, injury, surgery, and other medical conditions.
• Assess and treat dysphagia and provide dietary recommendations as appropriate.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and staff regarding communication and swallowing needs.
• Participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
