Job summary

Atlanta Housing is seeking an Associate Counsel (Real Estate Emphasis) to lead legal support for complex real estate development initiatives, from concept through closing. The role negotiates contracts, performs due diligence, and guides multi-party transactions within a dynamic in-house team.

The successful candidate will have a JD and at least 8 years of experience in real estate, with Georgia bar admission or a plan to obtain it within a year, plus strong leadership and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in complex real estate transactions.
• Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or willingness to fulfill requirements within one year of hire.
• Proven leadership and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares legal and transactional documents for mixed-finance and conventional real estate closings.
• Drafts, reviews and negotiates general business contracts and intergovernmental agreements.
• Performs due diligence reviews of closing/loan documents and related reports.
• Provides leadership and mentoring to junior attorneys and staff.
• Performs additional related duties as required.
