The Christa McAuliffe Charter School is a diverse Expeditionary Learning school for 350 scholars in grades 6-8. Our hands-on curriculum inspires achievement through active learning, character growth, and teamwork.
This full time position has two components: As the in-house guest teacher, you will teach classes when a teacher is absent, following lesson plans left by the teacher. Over the course of the year, our in-house guest teacher will work with all subject areas and grade levels, and will come to know every student in the school. As the guest teacher coordinator, you will coordinate the overall class coverage schedule, including by determining the schedule of our pool of per diem guest teachers when multiple teachers are absent.

The full time position is 40 hours per week. Specific working hours are 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. Guest teachers who wish to pursue a long term career in education are strongly encouraged to attend professional development from 2:45 - 4:15 on Tuesdays. The role is a full salaried position and includes paid vacation, holidays, and summer vacation. Benefits are available.
If selected, candidates must complete state-mandated fingerprinting. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $40,929 – $57,128. If you are hired at Christa McAuliffe, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role that reflects applicants with one year experience up to multiple years of experience. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
