The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) seeks an Associate General Counsel with 2–5 years of experience, either from a law firm or in-house, to join the Office of General Counsel in New York City. The role involves researching complex issues, drafting memoranda, reviewing contracts, and advising on employment, labor, and ethics matters.

The successful candidate will work directly with GC or Deputy General Counsels, support policy and litigation efforts, and help ensure compliance

Formación

• Two to five years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house for government/complex organization.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Highly collaborative and client-focused.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
• Knowledge of contract law; labor and employment law; government ethics and compliance.
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Research complex legal issues and write memoranda.
• Review and draft contracts and procurement documents.
• Draft and review policies, ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with sensitive employment and labor law matters.
• Assist with litigation and subpoena responses.
• Collaborate with OGC attorneys on internal changes and initiatives.
• Stay current on AI-related legal developments and advise accordingly.
• Interpret statutes, rules, and regulations; assist in reviewing pending legislation.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
